Movement is complex. It happens in multiple planes and our bodies do a great job at creating compensations. Therefore looking at how you do certain movements is important. But, sitting down and talking to you about prior injury history & what you’d like to achieve is equally as important.
Strength is a foundation. A deficit in strength can make it difficult to generate power. This can not only lead to a drop-off in performance but can also lead to a greater risk of sustaining an injury. So utilizing tools to measure your strength is critical to know where you stand.

Field-based sports, running, and playing often happen on or with one limb. So looking at how one limb moves or performs relative to the other limb is important when looking at potential issues or indicators for progress.
Force production & velocity is similar to strength, but they’re not the same. In times when determining safety of return to sport both force and velocity metrics should be measured. In other times when looking at improving your performance, such as: jump height, max force output, sprint speed, and acceleration/deceleration, force and velocity should also be measured.
